3004 - Training/Education

The Training/Education course block consists of three courses: Overview of Training/Education, The Training/Education Process, and Managing Informal Training.

The content expert for Traning /Education is Chuck Holmes, president of Corporate Strategies, Inc. Mr. Holmes has written extensively about education and training in distribution, and he is frequently a featured speaker for companies and industry associations. He is a charter faculty member of the University of Industrial Distribution and the University of Electrical Distribution.

Competencies:

On completion of the course block the student will be able to:

1. Identify skill and knowledge deficiencies.
2. Construct measurable and appropriate training objectives.
3. Select appropriate formal and informal training to correct the deficiencies.
4. Create competency statements and extract skill and knowledge requirements from them.
5. Create an appropriate training/education curriculum based on the skill and knowledge requirements.
6. Create a suitable training/education budget.
7. Create appropriate measurement and reinforcement for training/education.
8. Manage informal training to meet company standards
