Everyday Negotiations

Everybody negotiates every day. The problem is that most people don't do it well — whether it is a salesman negotiating with a customer, a manager with an employee, or a husband with his wife. Everyday Negotiations deals with all of these. The three related courses in this course block are Types of Negotiations, Negotiations Methods, and Negotiations Gambits.

The content for this course is provided by Chuck Holmes, president of Corporate Strategies, Inc.

Competencies: 

On completion of the course block the student will be able to:

  • Understand the types of negotiation.
  • Be able to plot any negotiation on the Relationship/Outcome Matrix and select appropriate negotiations techniques.
  • Understand the nine sources of power and how to increase negotiating power..
  • Use appropriate methods for Share Negotiations and Problem Solving
  • Understand common negotiations gambits and how to defend against them.
  • Understand the proper place of price in share negotiations.
